So you changed your mind about E62 and went with 8525

I have a 8525 and had it for awhile now and it a awesome mobile device. Cingular (Now AT&T) will release a upgraded WM5 pretty soon about a week or so and it a big improvement but WM6 should be release this summer and I already tried WM6 beta and it is very nice and more features.

You can get a bunch of softwares for it and I suggest you try Agile Messenger and also try IM+ Mesenger (7 day free period) to compare which one you like but you can get a bunch of free software too for it.

I also like Wisbar Lite cuz it have a nice battery icon on top of the screen and menu scroll down like a XP Start menu. You can get weather software or GPS and bluetooth GPS for it too. There thousand of freeware or payware software for PocketPC out there.

If you want push mail I suggest you check out mail2web.com - Pick Up Your Email and get a free account with them but I have push mail with them and 4 more POP3 email and hotmail on my 8525

Welcome to the Dark ... errr I mean BLUE! side hehehehe

I suggest you get a hard case for 8525 example like this eBay: Black Aluminum Metal PHONE Case for HTC Cingular 8525 (item 230116988319 end time Apr-14-07 06:58:39 PDT)

I have a hard case and it come with belt clip but I never use belt clip. I just put 8525 in hard case then hard case in my front pants pocket and I put in hard case cuz I always bumping my legs and working outside or much outdoor activies like camping or fishing.

My friend had a PPC but no hard case and he put in his pocket then he took a nap on couch when he rolled over on couch he crushed and broke LCD on his PPC ouch! He got hard case now and he is contructor worker that he abuse his hard case but his new PPC looke still brand new.

My hard case all abuse and scratch up but my 8525 still look brand new! If you dont like hard case but go fishing or camping etc then I stronly suggest you get it.

Thanks Techbill for the advice and help with all the information of the cingular 8525. ;) I'll look into buying a hard case, but the concern that I read that metal cases can cause interfence with the radio fenquency. I'm surprised no one else said anything, only Techbill.

I wasn't sastified with the Nokia E62 so I returned it already. It's not a impressive phone, I don't like how Symbian OS is.

Hello folks,

I was so impressed by Cingular 8525 because they has more features than my old MDA. I have old MDA and Sidekick 2 that will being retired soon. Today I went to local Cingular store (at Gaithersburg Square) and asked him to like to buy new 8525.

The salesman had to get his boss (sales manager) because he knows sign language so well and acts as an interpreter. Because I am new customer, they had run credit check and approved for up to one line with no deposit. Good! I successfully bought it with data-only plan ($45 a month) today. :) Yes, I can get $50 rebate back.

Does anyone have any information about Cingular's TAP program? If so, I can contact them to get forms, etc.

Thanks!
Tim

The metal case have a open slots in it where the antenna are so it doesn't block the radio waves on the phone.
