:hmm:  You are suggesting that the deaf adults on this forum without CIs know more about the experiences of my child than I do, know more about the experiences of Cloggy's child than he does, etc. ?  That's not the case at all. Let's take this particular question.  Frisky wants to know if it bothers CI users to be touched on the implant site, when hugged, stroked.  Several CI users and several parents of those with CIs provided their or their child's input.  I don't think that Deaf adults who have not had a CI can possibly know more about whether that part of the body is sensitive to touch than the parent of the child in question.

You can know your own experience as a child, and your insight can be helpful to someone growing up today.  But, you don't know my child, you aren't in her environment, you aren't experiencing deafness in the same way she is. And any random d'Deaf person picked solely on the basis of the shared characteristic of being deaf can't possibly know what my child is experiencing better than her parents do.  It's silly to suggest otherwise.
