Anyone of you who have CI insurnace?? I learned that my hub quitted paying his CI insurance.

I dont too.. I dont to need to have CI insurance because my health insurance is willing pay to replace if something wrong with my CI.

don't exactly have extra money to cough up for extra insurance coverage. Am not really too worried about it.

does it included if you lose your CI and will cover for it?

I knew a woman that had her hearing aid chewed up by her dog and the insurance company would not pay to repair the HA . I wonder if a dog chewed part of a CI if would be covered .

I think it depends on state what they have kind of insurances that can cover or not.

I don't know about HA.

Where do you get CI insurance ... Allstate?

Everything is new. Where the heck do I get this and I know it depends on lots of things but what's an approximate cost? Also, I'll never use the hw on my bike but if I fall and hit my head on the implant, then what... The only time I've dropped any motorcycle was from a dead stop and while the helmet protects my head, I don't know it will protect my skull.

Cochlear has two plans: One covers repairs only, and the other covers a one-time loss.

The first one is a service plan, the other has an added insurance benefit.

They are very expensive, yes...I have to pay $1400 per year for both for the service plan only. Some insurance plans cover the repairs, but not the loss, so you may want to check with homeowner's insurance to see if they will include loss.

I don't even know if AB has insurance coverage for their CIs or not, but still will be too expensive for me to afford.

My hub stopped paying for the insurance. Lets hope that he does not lose his CI again.

I hope they all change the rules with CI for the health insurances purpose. :dunno2:

It's too expensive for my blood

I'm anal retentive (duh?). I have a place where an item lands 99% of the time. When it's not there, I know my patterns and find what is missing. I never panic. There is a warranty (rather short, though... I need to revisit this) and for now this is enough. I'm not paying $1400. Thanks for the info. (Yeah, I could get a rider through my HO insurance but I know that will be through the roof.)

I looked into getting insurance on my HA's and the break even point just never worked out--meaning, I'd need new HA's before paying for the insurance made sense. CI's are a lot more expensive so it might be worth it but the premiums are based on cost so my feeling is that it would be the same situation. It's worth asking about though--this was through our home/auto company.
