I have 2 different kinds of hearing loss. My right ear is a conductive loss and my left ear is sensorynero. I have a BAHA (Bone Anchored Hearing Aid) on the right side and it works wonderfully. Over the last 3 years I went from normal hearing in my left ear to 90db with 64% word recognition and falling. Someone told me that they thought I would be a good canidate for a CI but I cannot find anyone who has both kinds of implants. I do not know if it is even something a doctor would do. Does anyone have any info or know anyone who might know anything about it?

I don't know if they would implant you though because both your ears have to have a sensorineural or mixed loss..hmm I've never heard of someone have one of each in both ears. I would contact a CI dr and make an appt for an evaluation to see if you qualify.

Jasmineknox:As you live in Maryland perhaps you can get the answer you seek from Dr John Niparko MD Director of the Listening Centre -Johns Hopklns, Baltimore Maryland.
Good luck.
