In Australia, we actually have a day called 'Christmas in July' because since we're in the middle of winter and we never get to see Christmas in its actual surroundings of snow and snow fights outside and basking in front of a hot fire and cooking S'mores and drinking hot chocolate drinks.
When Christmas is here -- it's bloody HOT and we spend the day in shorts n t-shirts...sweating our arses off and trying to stay cool. Average temperatures would be between 80 to 95F, not joking!

Of course, we DO still have the Christmas rush of shopping and shops open late at night or 24 hours for the first 2 weeks towards Christmas.
It's just the weather's DIFFERENT. ;)

Instead of working our arses off in the kitchen in front of the stove/oven, we're outside having a barbie (bbq) and eating summertime food. We do add beetroot (in place of cranberry), we do have turkey and ham for the 'traditional' meal.
