Hi,

Australian size clothing for kids are a bit different to the US. So, for example, if I see a clothing sized 6X. Does that mean it's 6 and a half or 6 large?

Thanks in advance

6X means 6 Large - it's good for either a tall child or a plump child.

My nephew is in between sizes 6 and 7 so I always take a 6X as when the clothes goes into the wash cycle, they do shrink.

I also take _X because they are good for the next season. Summer clothes, I take an X size as they can use in the fall season.

Hope this helps. Smile!

yes

X = Large

2XL = Extra Large

3XL = Triple Large

Sometimes they write it as 6XX (Extra Large ) for very heavy 6 years old boys because they are still in a height of an average 6 years old boys.

If my son is skinny, I go with the size 6. But if he between skinny and chubby, then I would pick 6X because like Bucket said, some clothes shrink (jeans mostly).

Nad if you find anything in an XLT - that's xtra large tall. Have to find those for hubby. Daughter just need tall and son needs XXL.

Thanks very much, Mrs Bucket and Kristina and Lighthouse.

Now I'll keep this bit of info in mind everytime I do some shopping in US. :)

Am appreciative, really.

Just remember, size 12 in the ladies' department does not mean "12 years old" when in a doubt, ask a store clerk.
