Child Seen With Beer At Phillies Game

He looks like 3 or 4 years old to me. :ugh:

How typical of Philly fans

Maybe the parents rinsed out the bottle and filled it up with water... since the drinks are so expensive... 9 dollars a bottle!!

How about bottled root beer? possibility?

I like Berghoffs, it's very good and doesn't contain HFCS.

Nah it's a Miller Lite plastic bottle

Wonder if this kid is related to the 2 yo smoker.....

You know what's damaging? That newspaper headline saying it was "beer" but they have no proof of that other than it looked like a beer bottle but says nothing on what's inside that bottle. Could be anything. It could be beer. I think it's irresponsible journalism.

Gotta agree with you on that one.

Wirelessly posted

Yeah, I agree with Kokonut. It doesn't look like a beer to me when I saw the picture from OP's post... to me, it look like a pop can in a bottle or something.

To me, it definitely looks like a beer bottle due to my experience of going to professional sports games.

In my opinion, if it was a bottle being used to hold water, the adults could have chosen a non-alcholic bottle.

However, if the child was drinking beer and the adults knew about it, that's a felony, I believe.

See the video I posted.. it's got to be the two old people to his right or the guy in a red shirt holding the lollipop candy thing on his left.

Which one you think is the kid's caretaker?

The people sitting in front of the child.

That video gives one good clue. The boy didn't wince or make a face when he drank.

It must not have had beer in it.

Who puts anything in a beer bottle after it's empty? That someone would refill it with water or something else is implausible. It's not a resealable container like bottled water.

The point is This. Just because it looks like a beer bottle is not proof that what the boy drank contained beer.

It looks real to me. No doubt about it. And yes it is possible that there is beer in it, otherwise how did the water get in there, even a little of warm beer in it? A child that age never mind the taste of any kind of drinks. This is baseball game, any child could get a hold of any kind of drink as long there are in the way.

Of course friends, parents or grandparents could get carried away at home watching any baseball or football games and they could have missed so easy that any child could get hold of their drinks. Most men are obsessed with sports and cannot take their eyes off the screen, and they could ignore what they give to a child...till they get caught or with the wife's I-will-kill-you-later look... :D

My little cousin loves to drink beer even she was little as 4 or 5 years old. Children don't always need to get expression to like or dislike any drink. Every time my family watch football on Thanksgiving, she would beg my uncle for his beer so he let her have it. She didn't mind the taste one bit at all. Image it was in the 80's and way back then things were a lot different than today's world. May God rest my uncle in peace...

And this is in Philadelphia? I am not surprised at all...

Impossible to charge without direct evidence in this case. It is not illegal drink from a beer bottle for minors but it is illegal to drink alcohol from any containers.

Actually in some states if they are with a parent......still legal. However I doubt there is beer in the bottle. Most likely it was late in the game and the adults had consumed a beer then put water from a fountain rather than pay $5 for a bottled water. Who knows.....but that's my guess.
