Overall, only a very small percentage of hearing loss is genetic. Besides, even if you did have a dhh kid, that's not the worst thing in the world. There's hearing aids, ASL and all kinds of stuff out there. It's not like the baby is going to have Tay Sachs or end up being one of those profoundly disabled kids who is deaf blind and profoundly intelelctucally disabled.
