my husband was told by  my MIL not to get me pregnant because we could have deaf children.

Implanting every single deaf children should not be the answer either. that is "oh, if we have deaf children, no big deal, all we have to do is implant them.... problem solved! "  you know the saying "Love me, love my cat?" well it goes with deaf "love them, love their deaf"

If you are afraid of having deaf kids, don't marry him because it isn't fair tell him you don't want to have his children and he does.

If he doesn't want to have deaf children, and neither do you. you two can be happy being childless, just like my mom's cousin when her husband did not want to have kids out of fear of deaf children. they are in their 60's with no children now although she wanted children... but finally accepted it.

This is something you two should talk about.

Also ask him how he feels about the term "hearing impaired"
