Have you hear a song or see the video by Martina McBride. She sang a song called, "Concrete Angel." That video is very emotional. Here's the song:
CONCRETE ANGEL
By: Martina McBride
She walks to school with the lunch she packed
Nobody knows what she's holdin' back
Wearin' the same dress she wore yesterday
She hides the bruises with linen and lace
The teacher wonders but she doesn't ask
It's hard to see the pain behind the mask
Bearing the burden of a secret storm
Sometimes she wishes she was never born
Through the wind and the rain
She stands hard as a stone
In a world that she can't rise above
But her dreams give her wings
And she flies to a place where she's loved
Concrete angel
Somebody cries in the middle of the night
The neighbors hear, but they turn out the lights
A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate
When morning comes it'll be too late
Through the wind and the rain
She stands hard as a stone
In a world that she can't rise above
But her dreams give her wings
And she flies to a place where she's loved
Concrete angel
A statue stands in a shaded place
An angel girl with an upturned face
A name is written on a polished rock
A broken heart that the world forgot
Through the wind and the rain
She stands hard as a stone
In a world that she can't rise above
But her dreams give her wings
And she flies to a place where she's loved
Concrete angel
My daughter loves that song.. she knows every words of the song without reading the lyric. She had repeated the songs a thousand times. she also showed it to me and I was saddened. I asked her why she liked the song so much.. she said she knows a couple of kids at school that's getting abused by their parents and she thinks of them. awwIt breaks my heart when I see or heard the child being abuse or killed. My husband and I vow to call the hotline if we ever see one. Have you hear a song or see the video by Martina McBride. She sang a song called, "Concrete Angel." That video is very emotional. I find some of the facts hard to believe unless you're referring to the child abuse that's going on outside of the United States.
I think they have. my daughter did tell the teacher that her friend told her that her father was hitting her. but not sure what happened afterward.I am curious...if that's the case about those kids at your daughter's school, didnt anyone report the parents?
and to save a life or twoChild abuse knows no international borders--it's everywhere.
Good thread and hopefully, at least one person might find the courage to call the hotline to report anything suspicious...bottom line, if a call goes through and something was done...then this is indeed well worth it.
