Has anyone charged a Smartlink+ FM transmitter via computer USB? There is nothing in the manual, that I have found, which prohibits or states this is possible.

Anyone have any issues with it?

I would suspect it would be ok. My cellphone will charge with an "unauthorized" cord even though it will say "<this is not the cord that came with the phone>"
 
My Smartlink plus came with a USB cable to charge via the computer :)
 
On the packaging with the USB lead in it, it just says

ISN AM TO MINI 5PIM CABLE.
 
I would think it'd be ok. I haven't tried it yet, but.... I charge my iphone with the USB for the computer so....
 
Usually, the only drawback of using the mini-USB with the comp is that you only have 5V for a given a USB 2.0 port. Because of the voltage, the phone will not charge as fast. However, I'm not sure about other components. Yes, they give you the cable, but they don't tell you the use for it. I'm guessing it is for an Audi or a Tech to hitch the unit up to a computer with the correct software for the device.

It could also be to charge two units at the same time from the charger, if that has a usb port on it.
 
Yes the USB cord charges it. I've had to do this before when I forgot to charge it overnight and had class all day. It's slower to charge but gets there!
 
just get a charger with 2 AMP. charges it up pretty fast.
