So far, I have tested them all (shown below) with a cellular. I wonder which one you have tried and like the best. If there are any others you like better than these, post here and I'm curious about them. How are their battery lives like? I know one of these I tested suck at battery life. :ugh: Have you experienced with any of these TTY's? Others? What are their pros/cons as well? Please post your experience and share here. Thanks in advance.

What happen? How did its lcd get blanked? Also, tell me more about what lcd is.

Have you tried any of these, Steel?
Well, I tried one on the regular phone, but I never tried those on the cell phone so it would be awesome if you use that kind of TTY like a cell phone, so you could use it anywhere...even in case of emerency or whatever like that

COMPACT C SUCKS!!!! i have had it, never again. but I did like my PVCO but I sent it back to try the new pocketcom when it comes out, if i dont like the pocketcom I will get the PVCO again.

Which one did you try?

I am against this crap. Deaf people should not have a burden to carry two items while hearing carry one tiny phone. This is downright dumb.

I have been emailing T-Mobile and Danger Inc to nag them to implement TTY in the device.

Ha ha ha! I have thought about that some time ago!! I'm sure it'll come out eventually since almost all technology is improving every year now.

Interesting. What were the cons about Compact C, BabyPhat?
it would be garbeled alot especially when sending the message, you can get what THEY say but if you try to type back, those so FUCKING annoying three words come up "Garbled, please repeat" and it would drop a lot of calls if you connect it to a cell phone. It is better for regular or cordless phones, dont ask why.

The technology is already available! Look at Wyndtell, they have a TTY feature! Its all about ignorant manufacturers. We need to kick their butt and yell "WAKE YOU, YOU HAVE A DEAF CONSUMERS!" I'm telling you, the companies out there cares more about saving money than making accomodations for their "other" audiences like us.

Interesting. I have been testing that Compact/C for a week (everyday at different locations each time) and I didn't get any garbled messages... and I didn't lose any connection during my conversation. (I checked for the contact status strength and it's over 3 bars at each time I used it.) Which cellular service do you use? Wyndtell? Verizon? What?

Thank you for your feedback and I'll consider it before making the final decision.

Ahha...Wyndtell doesn't cover my area. :( That's why I didn't look into that part. I live in Wyoming, and the coverage is very limited.

I can't make a call while driving. :| But I haven't tried that while my husband's driving. Hmm...that's something I need to try and think about before making decision. More tests to do. Ugh! Heh.

Another question... what's PVCO? Private Voice Carry Over?

I don't remember...but that kind of machine i used was kinda old fashioned or something like that...

the text were too small to read and the keys were too small to type so it's alot easier if the text are as big as possible, and the keys are big enough for your figures to type so...it's alot easier that way

sidekick can work as tdd compatible on Krown TDDs. I am surprise that sidekick won't work on Ameriphone. But I don't know if it would work on Ultratec or Hitec. :dunno:
