Earlier tonight (technically, last night), AllDeaf experienced an unexpected database error. The cause of this has to do with the upgrade of MySQL software (database program), currently version 4.0.14. It has nothing to do with the forum software (vBulletin).
Since vBulletin heavily utilizes MyISAM tables which has been changed and configured in the MySQL upgrade, it corrupted certain "posting" tables. I would hate to downgrade MySQL as that is known to fix the problem, but fixing and optimizing the tables within phpMyAdmin seemed to do the trick.
I've gotten over 500 emails in a matter of few hours (vB emails whenever there's a database problem), and I was sleeping then, until I got notice that AD was experiencing errors. Good thing it's fixed now and I can go and get some sleep.
