Smh. I'm not support the spank with object for discipline. It's hurt the skin on butt. The mother is wrong to abuse on her daughter with belt whipping. The spank with object of paddle, belt, and whipping are abusive. For my son's misbehave and wrongdoing to use a bat hit in me and other. I could put him on time out. If it's not work I can use my hand spank in his butt light to learn his lesson and not do it again. Do not hand spank too hard can hurt the skin. I don't allow anyone in my family member use the spank with objects. I can put my child on timeout. After time up and tell apology and give me a hug what he did wrong. I've watch Supernanny on TV. I learned a lot. That is interesting.
 
Back in the old days.....I got my own butt busted worse than that for misbehaving.....Not just with the belt...but with the buckle too....and a straight razor leather strap.....

I turned out fine....However, these days....it's abuse.

My own boys posted pixs of themselves with no shirt on to FB...when I found out, I made them take those pixs off...and grounded them....took their laptops away also...

Now, I've seen some of their posts on FB...blasting girls who pose half-naked and all....even called them "sluts"....well....

If my daughter did something like this...I'd take away the computer/laptop...and ground her for 1 month....Beating her into submission....nah....it just embarrassed her. And remembering too, the video that was posted awhile back...of a Father who "shot up" his daghter's laptop for talking bad about her parents.....

So this counts as abuse now... Im pretty sure my parents beT me harder than that for smaller things. Especially for talking back, and an extra one for crying. I actually thought it was worst. At least to me it didnt look like Abuse but i can see why some people would see it thT way. Its a form of disipline, harsh but disipline. She was t soing it juat for the fun of it.
 
I was whipped by a belt a few times as a kid but this is too much. I understand the mother's concern over her daughter's future and not having a father role model around. I think the mother lost control with the belt and it went too far.

Yep. As a child I sometimes got whipped with a wire coat hanger. Really smarts.

I got belted with anything mother could find...if give good discipline then punishment no be needed...
From what sOME Carabean people tell me it common way of sorting things out I know of people send kids back to West Indies so they can be brought into line.
This ladies way not mine but bet West indian kids far more polite work harder than other countries kids
