I'm hard of hearing, I can understand lipreading when he or she talks slowly.
I could only hear voice with my hearing aid on but sometimes I could not understand a word he says or she says because too fast or heavy accent.

I remember some Ddeaf could lipreading very well, that's amazing!.

I'm curious :hmm: Can you understanding lipreading well?

As Profoundly deaf and Pre Implant i had difficulty understanding new people, I had no problems with people i know. I did have problems in Busy crowds etc.
I can't understand people who wears beard, speaks with mouth wide open, mumbling, and Scots (no offence to Scots)! Fast/slow lipreader annoys me too...

Post implant I can understand MOST new people! Yay! My hearing is now in the speech range, guess that helped me to understand speech better.

Well, I only can understand lipreading is my grandma. I couldn't understand ANYBODY lipreading very well. Sucks eh?

Sometimes...depend on who...some lip read very well some hard. Like I said it is depend.

I do READ LIPS but not prefect as hearing person. I am away from person then I not understand them.

Yes, I am really pretty good at it, especially with people who I know.:D

But for honesty, the fact that my right ear is only 70db loss does give me advantage.

For me, it varies. I pretty much can read lips with a random stranger or a family member, however, for instance, If a man has a thick mustache that covers over the lip - There's no way I would be able to understand him.

If someone were to speak in a rapid tone, I wouldn't be able to understand it too. Also, It depends on the mouth movement. If one were to move it's lip in a very small movement, I wouldn't understand. If one were to move it's lip in a normal way, I would be able to understand it.

If I am already too familiar with a certain person, I have no problem understanding him or her.

Ic an lip read sometimes, but not the people with beards, I gotta love people saying BS :laugh2:

I can understand lip reading from some hearing employee and people but slow talk.

I can lipread almost anyone adn be able to carry on a conversation pretty well BUT it has to be in an one-on-one situations. Group situations, my lipreading skills drop to nearly zero percent.

Can you read my lip? I get that often when I was asked by them, I would tell them NO. Then I was thinking oh boy if I said No then how come I understand them when they asked me those dumb question?

I can read lip well? No. I do read lip but not 100 percent, prehap one or two words out of whole sentences unless I guess them right. That is how I deal with my customers everyday. Good luck reading lip on those non-speaking english people.

I am real good at lip reading except for people that talk too fast,no teeth and with an accent.

I do that too sometime when they ask me if I can read their lips. When I say no, the worse part is, they continue to talk as if they didn't catch the "meaning" of it.
