I like to see this technology develop. A car can run on solar panel on top of hood and top on car as well run on electric power and goes as fast 70MPH. The EV1 can only run on electric and its cleaner and doesn't run on oil.

Use the solar when sun is out and electric at night. and its safer on the evoinment.

I guess Jiro don't mind this sign

Who'd love to have these prices back?

Those were the good old days.

Its still $3 a gallon. I rather use free energy from the sun and less cost plugging it in and charging it.

I saw this:

Makes me wonder why our gas prices is higher than anywhere else in IL. Amtrak and Metra pay a pretty penny for diesel fuel, as does BNSF and Union Pacific, since they have trackage rights in the area.

because city gas is always more expensive.

That's true. However.... Diesel fuel is much more pricier than regular gas? I :dunno: if that's true, though, because I rarely see prices for diesel around these parts. Downtown, yes.

yes

Yes and no. Diesel fuel itself is cheaper than gasoline, BUT when it comes to highway taxes, road taxes, Diesel owners pays more for these kinds of taxes resulting making Diesel look more expensive.

Since diesel offers better MPG, still is cheaper anyway. I was at maximum speed or up to 75MPH since some road has posted speed of 80MPH. It does hurt Diesel MPG, BUT from my experience, it is not that bad as I thought would be... My truck is the largest mass production vehicle, and I yield 17.3MPH, calculated by true mileage and how many gallon I put in over the course of 7,000 miles in just 2 weeks. No gasser can achieve that high MPG with speeding involved. I even tested when I stick with 55MPH over 1,200 miles i get 23MPG.

As a family guy myself, I got two kids and wife, small cars drives me nuts. I am not sure if I got mild clausphobia or something. And for long driving trip, I find Excursion to be most God Damn comfortable driving and riding vehicle. I have no regret trade my top of line PU truck with older model Excursion. I also am the kind of guy who would fix vehicle while on the road. Today's vehicles, most cases I can't while older vehicle, its much easier to get fixed and get going.

Sorry, no hybrid, no solar BS, no huge high current batteries for me... I only accept 100% run from tank of fuel (Like Diesel, gasoline, booze if you will, even hydrogen is acceptable).

Diesel prices stay pretty stationary, where gas flutuates pretty heavily.
