I've been racking my brains out trying to figure out how to get a cochlear implantation. I am 23 years old soon to be 24 this year. I've always wanted a cochlear implant, but my medicaid won't cover it since i'm over the age 21 since I live in North Carolina. Any one have any idea how to help me get a cochlear implant? Any suggestion?

Thanks a bunch:ty:

Have you been evaluated by a certified CI center? If not, that would be the first step I would take. You can find a list of CI centers by visiting the following website:

Cochlear: World leader in advanced hearing solutions. Nucleus cochlear implants and the Baha system.

If you haven't been evaluated and you qualify for a CI, your CI team can write up the necessary documentation needed to ensure approval by Medicaid.

FYI...I'm over the age of 21 and both of my CIs were paid for by Medicaid.

Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, let me know. :)
