George bush said he will not sign a social security payroll tax hike. Now i think we got the right man in office. Now would John kerry done this or Al gore would done this? NO WAY!! I think voters are starting to get smart now. Thanks to people who are listening to rush limbaugh and watching bill oreilly. Ever wonder why ratings are high when the factor is on fox news? The factor is #1 rating news program right now beating CNNs larry ling live almost 5 to 1. Hannity and Holmes is also #1 at that time slot. More the story Here!

George bush, rush limbaugh, bill oreilly are all corrupt morons who belong in jail

Agreed. I remember there is a article mentioned about people who watched Bill O'Reilly tend to be undereducated while people who watched Jon Stewart are educated and intelligents.

That's one I completely agreed with.

And Bill clinton should been in jail too.

And Bush's father also

LOL, everyone talked about how George Bush was going to raise taxes. He votes against a tax hike and instead of actually agreeing with him, the best response in this thread is:

George bush, rush limbaugh, bill oreilly are all corrupt morons who belong in jail

OK...tell us why George Bush should not have voted against the hike and is a corrupt moron for voting against it. And tell us why the three are 'corrupt morons'. (I can agree that with you that Bill Oreilly is a moron but I digress).

Bill O`reilly & rush limbaugh both tell it like it is! Sure they make people angry. Like howard cosell pissed me off and thousands of orioles fans like myself during the 79 world series. And you saw what happend to howard cosells car in baltimore.

Bill O`reilly & rush limbaugh are a couple of blowhards who talk nothing but trash

So Bush is not going to raise taxes.
Big deal.
The main burden of today's taxes fall on the shoulders of the middle and lower income classes.
He has given a HUGE tax break to the wealthiest of the wealthy, and he wants to make this tax break permanent.
You know whose side he is on.

:werd: He one selfish old man that needs his boot kick back to Texas. I cannot wait until 4 yrs are up, so I can party on. :thumb:

I am curious. How about this idea:

Abolish all income tax.

Establish national sales tax.

No loopholes; everyone pays the same percentage.

Would you support that change?

NO REBA!

Just Lower the income tax bracket like for example if you make under $20,000 a year income you pay 0% Taxes
If make over $20,000-$35,000 you pay 15%
over $35,000-$55,000 you pay 25%
over $55,000-$150,000 you pay 35.5%
over $150,000 and more you pay 40%

Thats fair! married couples should count! Like if wife makes under $20,000 and Husband bring home under $20,000 they both pay NO TAX!
But if husband and with brings home $30,000 the husband pays his own 15% and wife pays her own 15% The only way to live comfortable in the middle class is the husband gets over $20,000-$35,000 you pay 20% and pays only 25% and the wife gets under $20,000 job,You both could be making about $50,000- $70,000 a year and pay only 25% tax OR you can go over a $55,000-$150,000 with with other spouce making under $20,000 you pay 35.5% tax even at total of $165,000 a year This way the only people get screwed are the way upper class and your wealthy. And thats the part democrats just dont wanna compromise.

So, if you take the time to go to school or to learn a trade, you should be penalized because you are making more money? What incentive is there for you to try and increase your income? Why would people making over $150k a year be penalized for almost HALF of their income?

Something else to think about. Suppose you own a business. You could run the business all by yourself and make $150,000 with one person having a job. I would be paying $90,000 in taxes. Instead of me paying $90,000 a year in taxes, why not let me re-invest that money into my business. I could hire 2 people, each making $45,000 a year. 3 new hires could be earning $30,000 a year. So, would you prefer that the $90,000 just go into the government to pay for welfare, or would you rather me take 3 people off of welfare and give them jobs?

While I don't think the rich should be given any tax shelters or using tax loopholes, but why should they be penalized?

I'll never understand why people think you should be penalized for making improvements in your life to do better for themselves. Whats the point in going to a college where you'll lose almost half of your income when you graduate? I'd also like to know how many people here have been given a job by a poor person.

No, I think that's NOT fair for
everyone pay the same percentage.

Why not?

I don't think it's really a bad idea, plus there would be no more income tax frauds meaning the taxpayers won't have to pay more for the people who commit tax fraud to stay in the prison.

Though, people at stores can commit fraud by keeping the money instead of giving it to the government.

Though, it'll have to be heavily researched and this may mean no more IRS. People shouldn't have to worry on if they owe taxes or not because they've already paid it through the NST (National Sales Tax). I can see the potential in it, and people will spend MORE money.

By the way, I agree with Taylor.

Plus, aren't all men (Americans) created equally therefore they shouldn't be subject to pay more simply because they make more?

Hmm, Banjo: you've made these good valid points

I'm having a difficult time trying to
visualize whether this will work or not
if everyone pays the same no matter
how much he/she earn etc... Hmmm,
this might take while for me to
figure this out :)

If everyone pays the same, then would
this make rich more richer and poor more poorer ?
