Bringing Back the Mammoths?

Yes, I read it about it in the news paper this morning and I believe it always possible to bring it back to life through their DNA mapping. So the mammoth is pretty much distance cousin of the elephant that is today. :)

Cool!! Clone??

So far they have clone dogs, sheep and human before long time ago and now it always possible to clone mammaoth or a sabertooth. who knows what next. But I think they shouldn't bring them back to life to play god you know.:cool2:

GMT right.. i dont think it will happen to that.. i think they jyst doing mapping that all..

Probably in 10 years, we will finally see the real Mannoths. Perhaps, eat them?

Another reasons why I say not bring them back to life is because it can cause more problems when bring something back to life millions years ago can cause lot of chaos for Jurassic Park animals that you can't control. It can be dangerous and maybe even deadly if it out of control. :)

Who knows, mammoth meat might actually taste good?

If so, they might start marketing these meat. ;)

Doubt they could survive long if the scientists succeed to relive them because of such viruses and bacteria that their bodies aren't costumed to fight these kinds of present time unlike their kinds back in the ice age. Short-lived extreme likely.

don't worry GTM. Ever seen African hunter and his NITRO bullet? I promise you that it is extremely brutal. :| btw - the hunters use NITRO bullets to kill elephants/rhino/etc. (one shot in their head). Yea it's that strong.

Boom goes the headshot :rifle: (btw - you can youtube it but it is not for faint heart. keywords: Africa nitro hunting, elephant hunting)

they're not actually reviving the actual mammoth from frozen ice lol. they're extracting DNA from mammoth and insert it into surrogate mother elephant. the newborn will grow into mammoth or will LOOK like mammoth. we'll see. I expect to hear some activists protesting about it... "WE SHOULD NOT BE PLAYING GOD!"

I know... I might misused the word 'relive' but you should know what I actually meant by retrieving DNA and manipulating.

Just lazy way to use the word 'relive'. lol

If half mammoth and half elephant goes, it might live bit longer due to the elephant's white cells 'acknowledging' the modern viruses to fight against to survive, maybe. Still I wouldn't call it a mammoth but rather a mutant. lol

But if a full mammoth goes, then it will be doomed by the viruses more likely.

lol! perhaps.... perhaps....

Hmmm, I think mammoth is very aggressive, so might be careful with them.

so are African elephants. they're extremely territorial. That's why there are frequent illegal elephant hunting cuz they trampled over local villages and their crops.

Yeah, that's what ancient people eat them. Always wonder how it is.

lol funny way to say it - "ancient people." You could just say cavemen but yea - they're ancient people as well

Yeah, but how aggressive the mammoths are...who knows.
