Dear all, i need help for my thesis project in singapore university. May i have your opinion? Thank you :)

From my research and observation, i understand that communication is a prominent problem between hearing parents and hearing impaired(HI) preschool child. In order for them to communicate, it is either the parents who need to sign language or the child learning speech. Both of these takes great motivation for them to master them.

I understand the benefits of both sign language and speech for long term development. However, communication is something that should not be delayed till either one or the other mastered signing or talking. Good communication, reduce frustrations and leads to better language development which is optimal in their early years (before 7 years old).

Hence, i like to propose a more intuitive communication tool for parents and child to allow them to understand them each other better. The tool will reduce the barrier between both side by using technology to convert audio to words and visual explanation. Also, while translating, it will teach parents and child to learn sign language.

I like to ask if there's a need for such innovation? Any problem or benefit for such innovation? Is there any current method/ technology good for communication between both?

Thank you!
