It’s not always easy to see the way crime affects the victims until you take a closer look.

Earlier this month Clara Jones of Boyce had her house broken into and more than $10,000 dollars was stolen. She had inherited the money from her mother and it was to be used as a college fund for Clara’s daughter Jennifer.

Jones says the house was ransacked and a fire proof box where she kept the money had been pried open and left on the bed. Clara is legally deaf and works at a grocery store in Boyce. She says it has been tough making ends meet and now she doesn’t know they will afford to send Jennifer to college. We’ll have more on this story at News Channel 5 at 10.

Oh dear, why leave $10,000 in the house instead of put $10,000 in the bank for the safety?

Dam* f***... (Excuse my languag...)

$10,000??? *sigh*

I wouldn't blame her... Jeez...

Yeah I agree with you two for having that kind of money in the bank. I'd rather be strict... *sigh* So much for defeating the locks...

Makes me think about having my own personal security system in my apartment. This should really help deter the burglars...

I hope she'll be better next time.
