Blog/article I read....Mark Drolsbaugh

Yes,the Deaf ed option is STILL needed and STILL very relavant! I'm not arguing that ALL dhh kids should attend deaf schools or dhh programs....Just that it should be an option among MANY. Yes, deaf schools/prgrams can suck......But the answer to THAT is REFORMING deaf schools/programs so they're not a dumping ground.......I love how a lot of mainstream advocates assume that all mainstream/inclusive kids are going to automaticly get the best of the best education....Not always...there are kids who do well with minimal accomondations but there are just as many who graduate with a certificate of completion or are hidden in special ed .....

Thanks for posting this Dogmom! I really like Mark Drolsbaugh's writing - there is a copy of Deaf Again at a center where I volunteer, and I always pick it up when I have downtime. (Lately not so much downtime, and it's weird to read a book that slowly. Something to look forward to.) :)

Anyway, in addition to his guest post, the website you linked to has a nice list of links to blogs, many written by deaf people or address deaf-related issues. Or both.

Thanks for the resource!

 tuatara, no problem, yeah I saw that list too and started looking at them-

I have known him personally since our Gally days and we belong to the same organization. Yup He has written a few amazing books. IIRC he is working on another new book.
