I though Bilateral Implants were only for deafblind, young children. but this doesnt seem the case anymore. I'v heard of many teenagers and adults without extra problems getting bilaterals.
This depends on your insurance carrier, but more often than not (compared to years ago), more of them are paying for bilateral CIs -- as well they should.
Deafteen90, as we are british the PCT (primary care trust) won't pay for bilaterals unless we are blind, physically disabled or under 19. Look up NICE guidelines, this will reappeal in 2011!.
