Are you afraid or uneasy of being next to a big rig while driving, walking or whatnot?

I just realized for a long time I hated driving close to freightliners and big rigs. Maybe this is along the lines of claustrophobia...

It's actually more uneasy when you're driving a freightliner with 30 tons of load going down a narrow dirt road that drops off into ditches on both sides while another one is heading up that same road.... Especially oil truckers....

That would be easier than IRT ;) I know what you mean. Liquid loader is no fun as they do swoshing around making it harder to take turns.

I saw a cement truck overturn once. The driver wasn't hurt but I wonder how often it happens, when the load shifts.

Seen few times that these trucker overturn. I even know one spot that 18 wheelers driver forgot the clearance and rammed under the railroad bridge.

If you wondering how often? Really not that often but I do see it happens few times.

There is one time that HAZ-mat tanker filled with 22,000 gallons of gasoline were speeding and had to negiotate the curve which failed causes fire damage to about 15 homes. The road was charred all of the trees along got killed. The fire can be seen miles away during night time.

I can almost guarantee you it was not 22,000 gallons :)

I see, since you drove 18 wheelers I shadda up. But I knew there is an event with gas tanker. Aint pretty after it charred everything in its path.

The capacity of the tanker was 12500. Usually heavy loads run around 8500 gallons.

If it was a tandem - 15000 is feasible. It depends on how many axles you have on your truck.

Exactly. Its not pretty. I have a friend who delivers fuel around the midwest so I hear stories about all the fuel trucks. :)
