The keyword is "New" which means it's manufactured this year. So far I have found several BD players that have a BUILT-IN CC DECODER. I am listing them along with their owner's manual (in PDF) for you.

Unfortunately, Samsung's new BD players don't support CC. As for new DVD players, you can help yourself by downloading their owner's manual and typing "closed captions" in search engine of PDF. If it's not found, that means it doesn't support CC.

Oh boy, I am done here right now.

I didn't realize some players didn't support CC. Really? Interesting. All this time I thought it had to do with the DVD (CD - movies) itself that decides whether captioning is included or not. That is why when you go buy a movie in CD, you can see the logo [CC]. I'm not tech savvy so I learned something.

One of those new BD players can play your old DVDs with CC even with HDMI connection. In other words, you don't need a composite video (yellow RCA cable) anymore to watch DVD with CC. BDs don't have CC since most of them have subtitles. Is that clear for you? BTW, it's just starting this year under FCC law.
 
Nice new player BUT does rent or store new movie DVD / Blu-Ray have CC???? i know only all old DVD movie with CC

Well, most of BDs have SDH. That's why they don't have CC. I suggest you to contact NAD or FCC to tell them that you want subtitle customization setting in BD players like Netflix, Roku, XMBC or Amazon Instant Video.
 
don't like SDH, it is bored same subtitle because some no black solid background, only one font, only one size.. I love CC, CC is any any size, color, solid or opcity, had AppleTV, VideoLan, SMplayer and KMplayer

A few BD movies have CC.









Since those new BD players have a built-in CC decoder now, maybe more BD movies will have CC in the near future, who knows?

???? I hope FCC will make a new law that requires all BD movies to be CCed so we can customize CC any way we want. Just wait and see. Deaf Power!

I would not waste my time watching Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie .
 
BTW, I had a live chat with a Samsung agent about no CC decoder in the new players. I mentioned FCC law so he said he will send info with a link I gave him to the headquarter. Just a reminder for them so wait and see. I am thinking, maybe they can install CC through firmware update or recall all new players to avoid fines.

Yeah me too! If it wasn't for him, we would be clueless what to buy. I have been thinking of getting LG Bluray BP540. Hmm tempting :hmm:
