Being Deaf Stresses Me Out

I wish I would be able to talk to cats in ASL and ask them if they want to learn to clap. They cannot learn ASL so it is on my shoulder to teach cats to clap. Cats bite me. I get frustrated, hurt, confused, and am in denial. I just cannot believe that cats would bite me!!! Why cannot cats learn ASL?
 
We, as Deafies, go through with that sh*ts. I understand what you are saying. There has been no change now there is CIs. :(
 
I think the most stressful think about being HOH is dealing with people that do not knowing the difference between talking slower and yelling. When I ask a person to talk a little slower , they'll YELL instead.
 
Hopefully a "deafie" using a Cochlear Implant does "hear" assuming connected and in "working condition".

Is it being a bit paranoid to assume cops might shoot someone walking the street?

aside: Being bilateral DEAF I don't feel stressed even if my Cochlear Implant is not connected.

im a big beam of light! haha :wiggle: I just 'discovered' my Deafhood 2 or 3 years ago and I'm 40. so i am still processing pent up rage. thanks for the humor though, i need it.. this seems like a great place with like-minded (like-eared) people..

Glad you got some laughs out of it :D So did you recently lose your hearing or were you born deaf?

I got stressed out a lot back when I was in school and first started dating. Now though, nothing stresses me out other than bills and when the Bears lose.

parents discovered 'hearing problem' at 3, inner ear infection? drained fluids..
but i speculate maybe its congenital.
got one hearing aid at 5 years old
