I keep looking around for thread or post and blog for people with Beep test you know, raise your hand or press button if you heard a beep? That's one and I couldn't find any except contradica saying their beep test result from before and post-activation to see the difference.
So it got me wondering what's your beep test result is in? Like 30 at 250, 20 at 2000 etc etc etc cuz all I find is speech discrimination score but I want is beep test in decibel if you don't mind telling it :) and also if you happen to have audiogram copy to scan and post up that'll be great too!
Thanks :) just want to see the average result so I get better idea what I might will get in my post-activation beep test
:thankyou:

I have it and will scan it. They do give a lot of test at 3months and 6months. I am due for my 6 months on the 19th. I will scan the before and after audiograms.

Curious, I never have taken this "beep" test. Instead, I have taken the calibration test that involves very soft beeps to establish my thresholds. I mean they are so soft that you sometimes think you hear them.

I'm not sure how to post the audiogram. I might have to put it on my blog.

Can I e-mail the you?

Vallee:
Yeah you can email it to me and you can also post up in blog as well, I got your email and I replied it with 2 email address you can use to email me with.

Lucia:
Yes, that's one thank you
What was it before CI?

If you're thinking about Activation day beep-test, it's going to be VERY very soft...I could barely hear it when they did it on my activation day. LOL!

I haven't done any beep tests since, so I can't be too sure. I'll post it up on my blog...who knows, maybe I'll get the chance next week.

I've never liked the beep test.

Sometimes, I hear the beep so much that it starts repeating in my head and I can't tell if it's real or not. :(

It was amazing to see the results of the test. The audie then uses the test to make sure you are getting the the right sounds to the CI. They found I needed more high frequency in the 4K area. I get my second test on the 19th. I need new mapping so much. My hearing has dropped some.

What was it before CI?

I had practically no hearing before CI.

Vallee: wow all your left ear is in the range I'm hoping to get mine (above 30) is it possible to go even higher if you could get it to?

Lucia: really? Mine's 105-120 decibel.

yes, she said closer to 25. Because I have been deaf for so long 36 years, it takes longer since I have to learn to tolerate sound. I think I am closer to 25 now. Remember that is just 3 months after activation. Big change!

Wow almost 25? I'll be sooo happy if all of my frequency is above 30 decibel to get most of the letter sound in speech banana
I'll be floored when I hear voices and all quiet sound out of left ear because I never heard it out of my left ear since I'm fetus lol (I had almost mild hearing loss in right ear till 3 almost 4 years ago it fell to profound loss overnight)

Mine has been going since I was 3, I am 39 now. I don't ever remember hearing any high tones. I can't remember the last time I hear the fire alarm. The sound is amazing with cochlear implants. it take time to get use to the background noise. I never knew that there is really no silents. There is a heater, the dishwasher, all the sounds I never really Had to hear before. Now I have to learn to tune it out.

That must have been scary to have it happen overnight. I can't imagine how it feels to just about lose hearing that fast. Mine was just a fact of life. I always was like that. It just got worst and worst to the point that I did not have any sound but one area. My health issues really have improved with the CIs - no migraines or tinnitus. I also don't have the pain from the hearing aids either.

So enjoy the journey. it is rocks!
