I found out I was hard of hearing July 2016 by September 2016 my aids stopped working.
I have waited since then to get them fixed or to at least get something sorted to help manage my hearing loss.
I have just got back from the audiologist whom is giving me new aids.
I have had the moulds taken for my new aids and I have also had a better explanation of what is going on with my hearing.
I do not have anything wrong with my ear drum or ear canal but my Cornelius (I hope this is the correct part) is not working.
I have been working with bad or partial working hearing aids and today I have been told the original test that was done is not sufficient enough. I should have had the test to see which part of my ear wasn't working like I did today.
I am no longer feeling worried or scared but I also got told I have had this issue a long time but no-one had noticed it.
Tell me about your experience and have you had a similar thing happen to you???
Also I wanted to take this time to apologize to anyone who has commented or spoken to me on here but I took time away as I felt I did not belong here until this was sorted.
I will also post my thoughts on the difference between the normal BTE and ear moulds as I think it will help others to decide what they want or need :)
Right now I couldn't be happier I even walked home from the hospital just because I felt so positive.

It can and does take time to get everything sorted out. You may have a fluctuating loss.

As for the "Cornelius", I think you mean cochlear?

Yes I did :) thank you for the correction :)
No I have a steady loss. But it has been slowly occuring since I was little. I am now 30 so from when I was about 6 I had problems with my ears.
Been a heck of a journey for me so far. But I am thankful for places like this one. Where we can talk get advice and help. :D
I am also joining my local deaf community now and I am really interested in making friends.
