Just had a quick question.

I have had Phonak Eleva 211s for about 3 weeks now, and my doctor gave me 4 packs of Duracell size 13 batteries to go with them(4 in each pack).

That should last me a while...I hope.

From your experiences what are the best batteries as fars as Low Cost and Long Life go?

Thanks,

Big Steve

Every battery works differently on different products.

Why don't you make a list of batteries you buy and try.

Battery (brand & type)
- I put it in on August 31, 2008.
- Battery died on September 13, 2008.
- Time: 13 days

Battery (brand & type)
- etc...

:)

It depends, if the batteries are fresh and if you have a powerful program. I always kept a pack in my desk for emergencies and the rest at home. I would say you are good for around 3 months or more.

For what it's worth - I avoid Duracells like the plague !!!
Something about the spacing of the air vents (or something) can cause them to cause intermittent cutting out especially if flipping from O, T, M setting etc.

( I actually know people who've sent in their HAs repeatedly for repairs - only to find out months later that it was the battery brand - they too switched from duracell to a different brand, and all their HA problems went away !! )

I like the Energizer, or Rayovac brands ... they all seem to last the same time within a few days, although some seem to sound "clearer" for longer ... as the voltage drops I notice they start to so a little more fuzzy, and I start cranking my volume more.

Exactly, it depends on how powerful your HA is, how long you keep it on, etc. I use the big 675 batteries and one lasts me 4-6 days. I haven't noticed much difference in brands, but I tend to go with Rayovac or Energizer, they're cheaper.
If you leave them on when you go to bed then that will cut the time in half. I usually sleep with mine on but I try to give my ear time to breathe a couple nites a week.
But having 16 of them, I'd say you still have a little time left before you need to buy more.
You should have a good idea how long they'll last after the first pack is gone...

A battery is a battery, pick up whatever you can on sale and expect 7-10 days depending upon your use.
