BATTER FRIED FROG LEGS

1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
2 lbs. frog legs
1/2 c. cornmeal
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. cooking oil

Mix the egg, corn meal, salt and pepper together to form a batter. Dip the frog legs into the batter, then fry in the oil in a large heavy skillet for 25 minutes, turning so they brown evenly on all sides.

I've eaten frog legs before. Yummy! They taste like chicken. ;)

I have not seen any frogs for a very long time! We used to have a farm over in Washington State that sold them, but no more. Where do you purchase your's?

Ive never seen frog legs at the stores for purchases. Only at resturants. :dunno:

Can someone catch a frog in a pond or creek and cook that? Or is it only specific frog breed that people can cook & eat? Stupid question I know

good question, which it ain't stupid question to asking! most hillbillies catching frogs in pond/creek on their hands and killing them.. so i dont think that would be good idea since need require INSPECTION on meats make sure it alright for you to eat! :) ... so you can ask any stores , they will tell you where where at... :)

Hubby's grandfather used to catch his own on the lake in Michigan. He trained his beagle to "hunt" them.

I guess there are places now that raise frogs especially for eating, just like they raise snails for escargot instead of digging them out of yard dirt.

We have some HUGE frogs in the swamps here that would probably make some gooood eatin'. :)

I would love to try em sometime! :D I never had some before, I guess they're common in midwest and east US states, but not in west coast.

I have tried my hubby's when he ordered at a resturant near our house...it does like chicken. I was grossed out by seeing webbed feet.. but its thigh. ok...kinda weird.. but good thou.

ewww :barf:

I remember when I was in Science class I couldn't even cut my own frog but I did accidently run over one with my bike...

eating frog legs? I don't think so..... :nono:
