I am single sided deaf, I tried to get a BAHA but my health insurance will not cover it, they say it is a hearing aid. The funny thing when I turn 65 I can get it with medicare. Seems awful that I have to wait that long to hear. I worked with 2 health insurance but neither of them will do it. I can't afford it, so still can't hear on one side of me, or behind me, or where a sound is coming from. I have had one accident because I could not hear behind me, it was only a cross country ski race accident, I broke my arm, I guess I am lucky it was not on my bike or something else. I drive with mirrors and use them, so that is safe. I really want to hear, like all us deaf people, and it hurts so when there is something to help and you cannot have it. If anyone knows how to get help on this please, let me know. thanks for your time. DH
