Do you receive Medicare? Medicare might help you. Or you can ask around among your deaf friends who no longer need their monitor? How about your parents? Are they willing to help?
I am "older and wiser" and I NEVER had the use of a baby monitor! I had five children and did it entirely on my own. The older children came and told me when the baby was crying, etc. There is always a way. It may not be an easy way, but it works!
My husband travled on his job and was not usually around to warn me when the baby cried -- but I survived as did all 5 of my babies!
Interesting, tho that I finally bought a baby monitor for my grandkids! My children were "uneasy" about leaving me to babysit, so I bought the monitor, but I was usually awake before the grandkid was!
