Baby left in hot car could be a murder . :(

Dad said he forgot to drop his baby off at daycare on the way to work and the poor baby was found dead . I just heard on the news that mother had looked up on line " how long does it take for a baby to die in a hot car. "

:( This is so disturbing to me and how the HELL could anyone
even think of doing this to a sweet little baby!

he got live with this for life.poor little soul this cruel way to die not sure what punishment he should have but cops know something and if this delibrate then he should get full punishment

I heard the mom is being checked out now too. I guess there will be more news when the cops finish their investigation . This is so heartbreaking

Very depressing. Many places now have laws where you can leave a newborn at a hospital for surrender with no repercussions.

I think they should extend the age and avoid situations like this.

The "parents'" behavior and words at the funeral were at the least bizarre and at most chilling. I don't understand the behavior of the people who were attending the funeral, either. They applauded the father?! Outrageous!

What about the mother saying her son" will not to worry about heartbreaks and going to middle school' and that she would not bring he son back to this selfish world" It sound like some horrible cult they belong to, applauding the dad while he is jail for killing his son. They act like he did a good deed. Something is very strange about the whole thing . I feel the cops need to broaden their investigation and check out everyone that was at was at the funeral . This is more than outrageous it's frighten .

I'm not quite sure how you "forget" a child in the back of your vehicle... exactly....

This has been "talk of the town" ever since it has happened. My personal thoughts on it are that the mom and dad planned this.

What baby Cooper went through just makes me physically ill and I don't want to think about it. It upsets me so much.

You don't forget a baby - especially after having breakfast with him, strapping him in your car and driving to work which is less than a mile away. Then, walking out to your car at lunch. Then ... after work, driving in the opposite direction from home to go to a very public place to have as many witnesses see you trying to help your dead kid ....

He would have smelled his dead son when he opened the door at 4 after he got off from work ...

When society is blind-sided to his actions simply because he conforms with them doesn't give him an excuse to avoid what is really obviously insane.

Looking up that information online and then it happening to them is definitely making this whole thing very suspicious. What a strange case but it is hitting close to home for me.

Before we left for camping last Wed, I was getting everything ready and packed into the RV outside. My roommate's kids and my daughter told me that they were walking to the clothes store to buy sunglasses. I said ok and then I went back inside to clean up the house. Realizing that I left the RV door open with the kids' bikes in view, I went outside to lock it up. I have a combination lock attached to the door because in this area, we have problems with theft. Then I went back to the house to continue to clean. The kids came back from the store and my roommate's daughter asked me where was the keys to the RV. She proceeded to say that my son was locked in the RV and I was like, "WHAT?" I ran out and there he was banging on the window. It was hot in there and I was freaking out trying to get the doors unlocked to get him out. He was covered in sweat. I felt so horrible.

I thought he went with the kids to the store and when I went inside to clean up, he went inside the RV and then I saw that the door was open so I went back outside to lock it up so I could focus on cleaning up inside. I had no idea he went inside the RV.

I still have bad thoughts of "what ifs.." and I have to stop thinking about it. When I read this story, I felt so sick to my stomach because it could have easily happened to me last Wednesday. *shudders*

Yes, this is a different situation but I could have been easily put in jail for an innocent mistake. I probably would accept my punishment if something had happened to my son while being locked up in a hot RV. Ugh...

All week, I have been hugging my son more than usual.

I know some peopel forget that their kids were in their car. I know.. BUT i can't say it because I was overly paranoid checking on my kids over and over. I remember I almost forget for a few seconds, that baby was in the back when I was driving , and realizes oh yea i have baby in back. But not an half hour or so. :(

Unfortunately this has happen before ,a parent put their sleeping baby in the back seat to drop him off at daycare before going to work . The parent 'forget' they have their and go right to work. :( When the story I posted broke news the reporters where telling people to put the baby diaper
bag on the front seat as a reminder that you have your sleeping baby in the back seat. I think it would it be a good idea to program your smart phone to also remind you to drop your baby of at daycare. I know what you mean I had never forget I had my small dog in the back seat so how the HELL can a parent forget their child is in the back seat of their car especially when they put the baby there. But it looks like the parents did not forget their baby b/c one of the parents was 'looking' on line how long it take for a baby
"to die in a hot" . WTF! I do not know of one a parent that looked that up on line.

I have forgotten that my son was in the car with me and I would drive straight to work. Midway, I would realize that I still have him and turn around to drop him off at he daycare. Sometimes, I think so much about my lessons, schedule for the day ,and situations for my work in the mornings causing me to forget to make that turn to the street where the daycare is on.

A lot of the babies forgotten in the car are apparently happening when the non-usual parent drops the baby off at daycare. When they get in the car the child is quiet, the parent zones out and drive on autopilot to work, gets out and goes to work. My husband has driven to work on autopilot many times with me. He will be driving the way he normally does to go to work even though we're going someplace else AND I'm in the passenger seat. He makes the turn to go to work then he will say "Oh hell, I didn't mean to go this way" and I say "You were driving to work, weren't you" and he indeed was driving to work, even though we were going to the grocery store.

If he can forget where he's going, forget that I'm sitting right next to him, forget that it's the weekend, I can see how very easy it is to put your child behind you and drive off to work, forgetting your child is behind you not making a sound.

I still do not understand how a parent can forget their baby is in the car when they had put the baby in the car their self. This is THEIR BABY we're talking about not a toy.

I'm not a toy either, and my husband forgot that I was sitting right next to him as we were on the way to do our twice monthly grocery shopping. It obviously happens to many people, otherwise we wouldn't have a problem with people leaving their kids in cars.

some parents can forget when baby was in the car. Remember that the parents can be overtired by taking care of baby all night, and all day, and mant tiring hours.

For me, I happen to be too paranoid mom. My kids tell me that I am a paranoid and nagging mom. uh oh.
