Baby dies from digesting too much water

It is indeed sad. I also read the Daily Mail link for further details. There seems to be a lot of contradictions to the couple's story.

There are a lot of unanswered or unconvincingly answered questions.

Could the mother have gotten help for her breast milk production? That kind of counseling is usually free.

Why didn't they take advantage of WIC for free formula?

I'm sorry but the parents don't look underfed. Could they really not afford to help their baby?

Were these people so isolated that no other friends or family members noticed that the baby was suffering?

This situation definitely needs more investigation.

Then why do they have baby in first place if they're truly in low-income?

Both don't look so bright to me....Could be her 1st baby and she looks to be somewhat young....More to the story than was printed tho'.

I don't think they are nice people:
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/04/30/baby-dies-water-toxicity/26670583/

they refused the medical care for her daughter after she was born.

they also stated it's because of their religious beliefs which I find a sham
http://www.11alive.com/story/news/local/duluth/2015/04/30/parents-charged-baby-death-diluted-breastmilk/26634127/

as religious belief does not prevent from seeking help for breast milk production or feeding the baby formula or whatever,
but I dunno what freaky religion they were into (if that is true, not just the getting out of jail card ), sooo... who knows.

Tragic, in an way.

Fuzzy.

Such an unnecessary death.... Sadly some women are also shamed into only giving breast or bottle to their babies and when it is the breast that they are shamed into they will go out of their way to prove they are mother enough by only giving breast milk even when they are not producing enough.

They also refused to get her medical care until it was too late, which is part of the neglect this girl had.
