I agree what others say that children can benefit from sign language during their early verbel stage and freely express their feelings easily and can understand what is going on. ASL or BSL is so useful for them to communicate with no pressures. this little girl is only 2 years old. :)

i met only a few deaf kids under 2 yrs old who knows ASL and enjoyed chatting with them. They all look so happy when they were telling me whatever it happens in their lives. it melts my heart.

That was fun. It was great seeing how much expressive and receptive language the baby had. :)

^^^ that. And the baby wasn't straining to communicate, it was an easy way for her to communicate. Also, both she and her mother looked like they were having a comfortable and relaxing time. Very nice.

Is it wrong to be jealous of a two year old? LOL! Well, I'm not really -- I made my peace with it a long time ago. But, I'm very happy for Ava that she won't have to strain to communicate with her family, or at least her mother. :)

Ava has two deaf parents and that's nice to see that none of them will have any misunderstandings or frustrations with each other from the lack of communication skills!! I was a bit jealous of Ava too!! A famtastic proof that sign language in infants works well!!
