This is interesting to learn ASLE. That is good for deaf people to learn ASLE because the most deaf people have poor in English writing and grammar.

What do you think?

I think Shel will like it.

You are right, Pinky. I love this! That's why I prefer the BiBi method and I feel it is the best. Makes the most sense. I like the idea of calling it ASLE instead of just ASL so parents of deaf children can be more accepting of ASL being used in the classrooms. Funny, he talked about This and that cuz it was exactly how I taught my students last year with those two words. That could be great for mini English lessons. I will see about getting sponsors for this.

Thanks Pinky!!! Awesome and this guy gets it about deaf education!

You're welcome! I got it from my friends on FB's post a link with video. I was alike it's good idea and made thread at AD to show.

Can you explain why you prefer BiBi? How about ASLE? James' invented for ASLE to help deaf children to learn English early.

ASLE is part of the BiBi approach. BiBi is using ASL to teach English so we are using both languages to educate our students. See my post commenting that I used exactly the same approach this guy showed on the vLog to teach my students the difference betweeen this and that last year? In essence, I am already using that but not as much as I would like so I would like to buy his dvds for more approaches to help me. Just because I have 15 years of experience in the field of teaching, it doesnt mean I can stop learning. I still continue to learn about different approaches and this is one that I would really like to study more.

I find it funny that we have to stick the word "English" on the end of ASL to make it acceptable to people.:giggle:

Of course...didnt u see the prejudices against ASL here on AD? It is even worse out there.

Oh, I know! This just confirms that the bias is there. Add "English" to it, and it all of a sudden is acceptable.

Yea but I think the demonstration shown can help those who are ignorant about how having a strong foundation in ASL can lead to better English skills.

I am so impressed with James. So, I would think that the method of using ASLE might work. I like how James explains with ASLE.

Interesting.. I didn't know that BiBi is same as ASLE. That's cool! He said he will plan to make video of ASLE for education.

Very impressive and I wonder if these people who have understood and accepted english --- turns out in the end to be writing novels!

I hope so. Those are the books I want to read.

Good ol' America.... Reject everything that isn't Americanized English including Spanish... while the continental Europeans can speak three or more languages fluently...

I know...too many prejudices. It is embarassing! I would rather have my children be fluent in multiple languages than be like those Americans who believe in monoligualism. Ugh!

I think you did not understand, JClarke and I were talking about very literate Deaf people writing.

I think Souggy was referring to post #5. I could be wrong but that was what I interpreted at first.
