Hello!
I've recently been asked to design and implement a video system for a meeting venue. The plan is to support interpretation of the various events, but also facilitate ASL-only events. The meetings that are held can have anywhere from 20 to over 100 in attendance.
I'm very sensitive to the numerous variables that can affect how well an audio program can be understood. However, in this case I need help to figure out how to do the same for sign languages. My goal is to design a system that is equal in quality to the existing audio system.
So, my question for you folks is: What makes a meeting or event easy (and enjoyable) to understand? Please offer any thoughts you have on video resolution, framerates, display size, etc. Also, if you have any thoughts about what you consider "ideal" versus "acceptable".
I've reached out to my local contacts, but I decided I had better cast as wide of a net as possible.
Thanks so much for any help you can offer!
