well, I'm switching to a private school next year and will not take ASL class in school. and I used to take ASL out of school as well, but it is every wednesday night and My youth group is wednesday nights. So i had to quit.:( so now I am looking for someoen who would tudder me in ASL that lives near silver spring Maryland. which is near DC. or, if you know anyone that could. please post here, e -mail or PM me. thanks

If you want an ASL tutor that's great, you'll probably find one in the d.c. area. BUT, many community colleges offer ASL classes, and you may be able to take one at a school nearby. Also, keep going to deaf events, that will help you a lot! Good luck!
 
well, as far as deaf evens go... I'm WAY too shy for thoes. and yes, i should check out my local community college. I also don't live far from gally so should check there too. But I kind of wanted a tudder for a smaller setting. or even private. and yes, i do have the money, so. i would pay whoever would be willing to tudder me.

I have never heard of word "tudder" before. I thought it meant someone who stutters in sign language or something.

Where does that word come from, I'm curious.

Americans don't usually pronounce it like something hanging from the underside of a cow.

Most Americans I've heard pronounce it like "Tudor" (royal family) or "tooter" (someone who plays a wind instrument, rhyming with "Hooters").

'Tis true - I suppose with the two "d"s it would sound more like "udder" than "tudor". Is the "tooter/tudor" difference a North vs South thing? Most Brits and Australians I know say it like "tooter" too.
