Hi Everyone,

I am a university student who has been studying ASL this year and one huge part of our class is learning about the Deaf Community. We have an assignment this semester to do an interview of some members from the Deaf Community. It is about a dozen pretty basic questions asking about the community, your view on some hot topics, and some general questions. I would very much appreciate it if anyone was interested. It would help me both with class and in learning much more about the Deaf Community.

Thanks,

Megan

P.S. Feel free to email me at megkmac@gmail.com

I can take an interview on IM. Do not e-mail me at these addresses - add me. Your e-mail will be ignored.

MSN: silly crazy boy 42 at hotmail dot com. No spaces and substitute "at" and "dot" as appropriate..
Google Talk: a not equal to b at gmail dot com. Again, no spaces and substitute "at" and "dot" as appropriate..

Just post the questions here and several people will answer and then you can collect them. :)

Here is the list of questions that my class made up. Some are a bit random, some on hot topic issues, and others about the Deaf community. Please answer as many questions and in-depth as you would like. Also if you could tell me just a little bit about you if thats okay with you. Thanks for all your help!

What group of people (ex. family, friends, co-workers, deaf and/or hearing) would you describe as your community?

What is the most pressing issue in your community?

I rather think the point of the assignment is to meet and interact with Deaf people using their language and not simply post your questions on a message board. You might want to double check with your professor.

Thank you so much everyone, you all have been a great help! This was the point of the assignment and we were encoarged to use blogging sites or email directly. So thanks again!!
