Hello Everyone!
I'm Greta and am currently learning American Sign Language. I am 16 and a very eager learner. I aspire to one day be an Interpreter for the Deaf. I am not here to ask any questions, and this isn't for a homework assignment, I simply want to make friends and start making connections in the Deaf community so I can completely immerse myself!
Thanks! :)

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. I do hope you will become an interpreter some day. But for now you are still young at 16, you will find time to think about what kind career or job later on in the future. You might change your mind about becoming an interpreter. It happens quite often with young people. While you are learning about our deafness and Deaf Culture plus many other topics, just have fun reading and posting all the threads here. See you around here.

Thanks so much =] I have always been the person who HAS to have a plan- all I know is that I want to be involved in the Deaf community so much. So I really hope to be able to pursue that dream.

Hello. :) What is the reason you want to be involved in the Deaf community?

Aloha!

i have several friends who live in Minnesota.. probably you might know them or not.

I honestly don't know the reason. It's just a feeling I have where- when I sign and work with my teacher and learn more about the history and find out how I can be involved, I get this feeling of belonging? I don't know if it makes sense but I love it and I am passionate about it. My teacher ( who is Deaf) has really inspired me so much. This might sound stupid... But I dunno there is something in me that wants this so bad.
