ASL should be taught to school children as a second language, am i right?

Its annoying you can only take spanish or french or other languages (in most US school) but never asl.
 
Part of that is because of the "primitive" narrative that's been artificially cast on ASL. :(
 
It should be offered, at least. Progressive school systems on the west coast offer Mandarin and Japanese, as well. French is a great language with not many speakers, relative to others. That problem applies to ASL as well but the advantages to brain/intelligence development are outstanding.
