What is considered a private conversation among deaf/Deaf using ASL? If you are in a group of people, conversing with someone privately using ASL and someone else enters the conversation is that considered rude?

What is the appropriate response to someone who has interrupted your private conversation?

rude? well that depends. most of time... that person didn't know he/she's entering a private conversation and you can simply inform him/her that you will talk to him/her later cuz you're having a private convo.

but it's normal for deafies to interrupt the convo for a quick question and they do apologize for interruption. if they didn't - well yea that's rude.

same as hearing people do - "excuuuuuuuuuuuuse me!"

and if it's a private serious convo and you don't want any interruption... simple - go somewhere else and have a talk. if you're having a "private convo" in a group.. you should expect to get interrupted all the time.

Not directly in a group, but in the same room or at a gathering setting.

thanks

I usually tell my friend or i just met, tell her or him to meet after this group and want to ask something. It works as well.

If i knew i have a private converation, and ask them to go somewhere else that no one see us.

Just use your common sense.

same thing... like DPHH, deaf coffee, or any deaf gathering.

wherever you are, it's expected to get interrupted by another deafie and that deafie will apologize you for interruption.

in hearing world - it would be rude to interrupt any conversation but it's different in deaf culture. they do that to ask a quick question or to say hello. just a quick talk.

so generally...

interrupting a convo without apologizing.... rude!
interrupting a convo and apologized for it but talked too long... rude!
