I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place for this topic, however I saw that there is a discussion in this section about opinions of signed songs so I thought maybe it can go here.

It seems there is a lot of signed music on youtube and more and more I see actual ASL music videos.
I was just wondering if you guys have seen these out there and what you think of them. Would you rather people just sign music (like interpreters do in front of the singer, band, etc) or do you enjoy this new expression that seems to be geared exclusivly to the deaf world.

Here is an example from youtube by Michael DiMartino signing Britney Spears "Circus"

He seems alright but it might be the song itself. I don't know the guy personally and don't really watch music video transcribed to ASL from the hearing unless for a specific reason. I tend to think of it more as hearing-asl, like a psuedo language spinoff of it's own. Not referring to poems, personal short story songs of that sort. I'm talking about popular songs being used as ASL projects.

I needn't remind you that true Deaf can't hear anything except bass, so it would obviously seem pointless to drag out an expression longer than it should be..

This guy is not doing that in my opinion:

This one seems to be dragging it along with the lyrics (which seems kind of pointless to me to emphasize on it)

Just my opinion. I don't represent everyone.. and I realize not all deafs have the same taste.

I am total deaf, can't hear the bass, but I can feel it. By the vibrations, I can tell if the sound is high or low.
