Ask Dixie anything - really anything......

For me it is pretty easy, but then again if I see something once I learn it very quickly. For others it may be more difficult. I think it has alot to do with their learning style and the way their brains are configured to work. Kind of like one person is really good with numbers but not so good with language, and the other is extremely good at grasping language but not so great at numeric concepts such as polynomials.

For me it is a bit hard, becuase I have my own sign language of AUSLAN (Aust. Sign Language) I tend to mix up when I learn ASL, but it took me 8 years and I am re - learning again, yet it is fun to learn something new ;)

The actual signs in my signature are Deaf Rock (as in rock-n-roll) I just put the captions Being Deaf Rocks and broke it down into 3 frames. I apologize if I have offended you or anyone else here for that matter. If it does appear to say Deaf B.S. then I may amend it or make a new signature.

Well, that sign for rock is a hearing sign, isn't it? Which would make what your'e saying in ASL something not so nice when you mean something nice in a hearing "sign for rocks". lol....

Oops - looks like a removal and an amendment are in order.......

Did u ever get the results of your dr check up back? I wonder? :)

Have you been overseas before?

No, but Australia is one of my top places to visit should I ever get the chance during this lifetime. Australia is just so interesting and the big bonus is they speak English. I would like to visit the state of Queensland, Ive been told thats the 'redneck' state of Australia. I wonder what would happen when Dixie and crumpets collide.

Yes I did, FC. MY BGL (blood glucose [sugar] level) is low but not dangerously low. I am as of right now considered hypoglycemic (again low BGL) which is basically borderline diabetic. The doc pretty much said that eventually I will be full-on diabetic sometime, but if I eat properly and keep things in check I can possibly keep it at bay until my body can no longer self-regulate the sugar levels in my blood. So Ive been watching my diet for the past two weeks, staying away from sugars which causes my BGL to skyrocket up and then bottom out rapidly - which can also cause fainting. It really is a lifestyle change when you get right down to it. At least it is nothing too serious but I will have to stay on top of it for the rest of my life or end up in the hospital with more complications than I'd care to see. Thanks for asking. :ty:

Im really surfing around for a new DSLR Camera, they are expensive but well worth it in my opinion.. Im looking at this one right now:

Sony Cyber-Shot 8.1 Megapixels, quick shutter speed and adjustable settings as well as auto setting. 15x zoom. Should make for some good nature shots this fall right about late October to mid-November. Only $400 bucks after taxes :afro:

Likely but not decided for sure yet.Theres another that I like but its $700 bucks. Not sure I can expend quite that much on a camera right now.
What is your favorite food?
Italian and authentic Mexican.
Your favorite drink?
Diet Coke at the moment - at least it does not taste like refuse like the other diet drinks do.
If you are stuck on an island .. what wuld u bring only one thing?
A yacht that has a full gas tank. If Im stranded I might as well have some style.

:afro:

Diabetic type I or II? I am type II. You looks too young to be Type II but it sounds like you are type II.

What is your favorite season?

What was your favorite subject in school?

Did you participate in any club back in school?

Possibly Type II - but for now Im classified as hypoglycemic which is the precursor to full-blown diabetes. It runs in the family somewhat but its not direct family - I have two cousins that have it. Both were diagnosed younger than 16 years of age - so it is childhood onset diabetes. Neither were overweight though so I doubt it is obesity related.

Fall, the colors just really tend to pop out at you plus it makes for some awesome colorful nature shots when you get the opportunity.
What was your favorite subject in school?
English, Journalism, and Desktop Publishing - I couldnt pick a single favorite - but I really enjoyed all of those courses.
Did you participate in any club back in school?
Yes, several actually- FBLA, SADD, FCA, High School News Editor, Track, Cross Country, Basketball, Band (played the drums), SPJ, Girl's State, Student Council Representative, Multi-Cultural Club, Quiz Bowl, FBC Youth Ministry. I think thats it or at least all that I can remember right off.

No never actually saw a snake in my closet - but I did see a black snake crawl behind my mother's dresser when I was about 10. I just walked out of my bedroom which was straight across from my parents bedroom, and bam it was right there. I didnt do anything but it sure did send chills down my spine.
what is your most embarrasing moments?
Hmm - probably the time I tripped over the halfcourt line when I was playing in a junior high basketball game, the other team got the ball and made a score on that one. The next moment was when I passed out right in the middle of church during invitation. WUMP! All I remember was looking up and seeing our pastor standing over me asking if I needed an ambulance.

I guess I need to ask you and others some more questions, hehe. :ty:

heh....If you could join the US military, what branches would you join and what would you like to do in the military?
