sad...I think it's hard for young people to fully grasp Memorial Day...if you think about it, the war we are in right now is totally different than wars in the past...with WWII, the whole country was involved and everyone was encouraged to do their part (even kids would collect scrap metal), and with Vietnam, the youth in the country definitely had an opinion, young men were being drafted, protests were everywhere...things are different now, I'm in my 20s and no one I know talks about what is going on with the war (we're all college graduates, some of us are grad students)...I think it's easier than before to kind of "forget about it", sure, it's on the news, but we don't have just 3 channels anymore, when we get on the internet, it could be the front of YahooNews, but hey, there is another article about Kanye West next to it, they can just click on that (people can pick/choose the news they want to read)...and honestly, I don't know anyone (in my age group) who has read an actual newspaper in years...
I'm in no way trying to make an excuse for my generation (generation below me, which honestly, even scares me...)
