Does anyone else have arthritis in his/her hands? How do you get around when you're trying to fingerspell and your hands cramp up or really hurt cuz of the arthritis?

Right now, I have arthritis big time in my right hand...a combination of fighting in my younger years, working with computers since 1983, and inheritance.

Have anyone ever had pblms switching from one hand to another hand, or have anyone found a way to get around the arthritis?

Thanks!
DD

well my mom had arthrisis and CTS carpal tunnel syndromes. and she's wearing a brace at night and getting a 100% of massaging from me and family members and co workers to keep her hands from hurting more. SO that's pretty much all can do for now have u seen the dr DD for some medication to ease the pains?

Hi, DD

I had similiar problems when I did data entry work at various companies for a several years. My right wrist and thumb developed cts and arthritis. I do wear wrist brace occassionally when it become stiff.

I had to quit my DE job in order to get back to the college to pursue my major. I have only one more semester left to get MS degree in Rehabilitation Counselor for the Deaf. I have no regrets that I quit DE jobs because I knew that DE is not permanent job for me in my life. I decide to change career.

need to be careful with your hand. If you point in the wrong way while type the keyboard. Ouch, it cause pain on your arm. tsk tsk tsk

i agree with javapride i heard from others (especially tennis players)
that one of the best ways to resolve arthritis
by massaging and rubbing a lot.

Hello DD, I am back home from Thanksgiving.... I read of your treads and I do the massaging when I get to work because I am data processor for very first time.... I am learning about FF and others's CTS, etc.. It pretty rough time. I would like to take change career but not this time yet.. :D
