with how many other people other than yourself who wear hearing aids where you work? Do they do the same role as you? If you are the only person that does, how soon would you introduce yourself to a new starter to where you work or talk about hearing aids to somebody who has been with where you work who has just got hearing aids?

Two other teachers at my school wear hearing aids, I wear bilateral CIs. We all feel great with each other and talked about technology and equipment. One teacher is very interested in my CIs and is leaning to them in the future.

At all the jobs I've had for the last 13 years, I was always the only one that's deaf. I think it's because I picked a job that's out of ordinary - Surgical Veterinary Technician (what deaf person would work in surgery while the docs wear masks?? :) )

Sorry that I'm not much help.

I have been working in sailing industry and am the only deaf around! Happy as larry, I get on with everyone. I am treated as equal.

I am the only teacher in my small town that wears hearing aids. Everyone pretty much treats me well and are very nice and helpful. There are about 7 students in my school district that also wear hearing aids. I enjoy talking to them and letting them know that even though they wear hearing aids they can still do and be anything they want. :)

I'm the only one who's deaf at my place of employment basically.
