Mum and I watched an segment on this documentary on Oprah. We were stunned at how bad education system are in the US, although not that surprised.

So, anyone who have seen this. Care to elaborate on what you thought?

Would love to see this documentary.

Only thing I dislike the title that it misled to think it's comic movie but it's not. Argh...

I thought it was going to be about comic or movie too.

but yes it is a metaphor for waiting for someone who will save the school system.

It's about the inner city school system in the US.
And this is exactly what inspired my post about residental schools. There are a lot of mainstream schools where the educaiton is horrible even for hearing or nondisabled kids. Yet hearing parents are encouraged to mainstream, mainstream and mainstream as thou there's something miraclous about mainstream schools.

a lot of city school administrators blow up their scores by cheating!!!! there was a article i read where the school was training the kids on the answer sheet !!!!! then the school put a spin on it so that they could cover it up. but now most schools only teach for the tests that grade the schools they don't teach to instill knowledge in the students

I have good news, I am superman and your long wait is over.

(i thought it was gonna be about a superman movie I haven't heard of)

I have never watch "Oprah" as I don't care very much about what she was talking about. I know every woman rave about her and thought she is wonderful. No problem with her. No, I have not see the program "Waiting for Superman". :hmm:
