Hi,

Anybody else pissed off at spam viruses?

It's getting harder and harder to keep a private email address (even one you never put into any web forms, mailing forms, registration forms). Eventually one of your friends get infected by a computer virus that secretly installs spam-sending software on anybody's PC and finds your formerly "private" email address. Of a sudden, your private email address is on a spamming list even though you gave out the email address privately only to our friends. (and used a hotmail address for everything else)

This hurts everybody, but it especially hurt deaf people more, because we tend to use email more often than other people. It also hurts hearing people too. Spam is the leading reason why sometimes messages take 2 hours for an email to reach your SideKick or Blackberry or SMS cellphone (their services are overloaded). And sometimes Internet Service Providers make their spam filters overzealous - meaning legitimate email gets lost more often than they used to. Or spam and attachments being automatically sent to pagers. Some of your email messages you send do not reach your friends - wonder why certain friends sometimes say they never got your messages? That's usually because of a spam filter that accidentally deleted the legitimate message.

But what has me peeved the most - emergence of spam viruses!.

Is your PC secretly sending Viagra Spam to your Friends?

Make sure you have a virus scanner: You do NOT want your computer to be secretly sending spam to your friends. (Your friends won't know -- because the spam is forged to seem like it's coming from everywhere else. That VIAGARAMAN3532 spam may actually be secretly coming from a virus covertly installed at YourFriend at AOL.COM)

Same here. Never received a virus in 2 years I have used my Apple Powerbook G4 (Titanium). All deaf people should move to Apple platform ;-).

I wholeheartedly admit the Apple platform is MIGHTY tempting at this time. ;-)

At least it has UNIX underneath, and I'm familiar with Linux which is similiar.
