Simple, don't get in a relationship with anyone online. I don't.

I don't mind online relationship. But tell you this... when one ask for $ when having online relationship with somebody. This is a BIG FAT red flag!!! These online relationship should NOT have any money involved!

I agree with DHB65, its good point..

Umm.. to the people who say don't get into an online relationship... never say never.. I met my current boyfriend's best friend online and met my boyfriend through him when i visited the best friend in another state.. And before this I swore to myself that I would never get into an online relationship.. but my boyfriend and I have been together for a year and 1 month now despite half of that time being in different states/countries. So online relationships can work. you just have to be picky about them.

I'd try again. and be more selective about who you date. The general rule I have is.. Learn everything you can about them before you meet them in person. I spent a year learning everything I could about the best friend before I went to visit him. So it can work.

Good luck.

For one of the mods to answer, but...

What I don't quite understand here at AD is this. We have identified a scammer who is still on the membership roster.

http://www.alldeaf.com/members/kenny_collin.html

That means that they can continue to visit the website, pick up any new member's contact info and continue to harvest other information. Why isn't this user banned, their IP address blocked and their activity reported to the appropriate ISP? On Yahoo Messenger, this person is still regularly active.

This situation occurs far too often here with little or no corrective action being taken that I am aware of. Could one of the mods please comment on this issue? TIA!

I can't say online relationships don't work out. That's how I met my wife from online. You just really kinda treat it like a regular relationship. Take it slow. Learn from the person. NO need to rush. Just gotta be careful & watch out for the obvious signs of using you for money or just screwing around with you.

I would say the same thing, I met LakeTahoe though Yahoo! 6.5 years ago, and still with her!
Was it easy one? It was only a dream!

Been there, done that. ;) I just have not seen any results so I thought I'd make it public to see if there were any other routes that needed to be taken. I mainly just don't want anybody here to get "hurt" by communicating with a known scammer as indicated above. Dave
